Scott A. Barrett, founder and Managing Principal of S. Barrett & Associates, P.C., is admitted to practice law in the states of Texas and Nebraska as well as in all four Federal Districts in Texas and the Nebraska District. Scott graduated on the Dean's List from Washington University with his Juris Doctorate (JD). Prior to entering law school, Scott earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in International Business from the Cameron School of Business of the University of St. Thomas  As a native Houstonian, Scott attended the University of Houston where he earned his Bachelors of Science (BS) in Finance.

Scott possesses the unique ability to recognize, develop and define goals and strategies and to ensure that the proper actions are implemented to achieve and surpass the objectives at hand. He consistently brings new insights and perspectives to situations and challenges, all the while striving to develop the best solutions and seamless execution.

As a practicing attorney, Scott has focused on transactional, corporate and estate planning matters. He has served as in-house counsel to a number of start up entities as well as Managing Attorney for a real estate, probate and bankruptcy firm. Scott's transactional and corporate practice encompasses simple contracting and agreements to complex private placements. In addition to his transactional and corporate practice, Scott has advised corporate clients in limiting their exposure as creditors in the bankruptcy process; facilitated the legal and regulatory structuring for an emerging energy marketers; implemented legal architecture for a multinational healthcare concern; advised acquisition groups on structure and tactics; drafted and negotiated numerous purchase agreements, intellectual property licensing agreements, joint venture agreements, service contracts, Private Placement Memorandums and employment contracts; developed a myriad of optimal entity structures; and advised, designed and organized several start up ventures.

With his estate planning practice, Scott's focus is on the client; ensuring that their unique needs are reflected in the plan devised. Scott offers his clients many choices and guidance in developing a plan that surpasses the clients expectations.

In addition to Scott's legal accomplishments, he has over 20 years of experience as leader in different organizations and industries. As an Executive Director (CEO), Administrator and a Managing Attorney, Scott has achieved record setting performances, both in terms of profitability and volumes for three separate entities. His experience encompasses extensive involvement in strategic planning, finance, business and entity development, managed care contracting, marketing, client relations and executive management.
